I’m 30 years old and I felt my life has passed by me and I still don’t know what job/career is right for me. I want to focus on jobs dealing towards the field of Accounting, Finance, Management, and Computer Information Systems, but which field is right for me. Then there’s engineering and public relations but I still question it, Is it right for me?
So what should I do? I tried talking to a college career adviser but with little help and the adviser told me to look at certain websites to decide what I like.
Is there any websites to go to in helping me decide what is right for me? or is there any hotline (free if possible) to call in gaining advise on what career is right for me?
I’m listening.

You can take a career interests test at your local career center/job center. Other than that…trial and error.
Try this test:

You can also do a search for “find the right career” for more websites that might help you.
“What Color is Your Parachute?” is a classic book for people in your situation; it presents some exercises to help you decide what’s important to you and what you enjoy and are good at, and it also has information about how to accomplish a career change and how to find a job. I highly recommend it; it’s a lot more sophisticated than a quiz.
I think those tests suck.
